UI CONnection – Winter 2020

Dear Alumni and Friends of the College:

I am writing to you as I reflect on a beautiful fall afternoon and on a journey we continue to take together. We have celebrated Thanksgiving, our students have traveled to their homes and the winter holidays will arrive very soon. We continue to manage our education, research and service missions during this pandemic, acknowledging it has impacted us in ways we could not have imagined.  During such a challenging time I want to applaud the adaptability and perseverance of our students, faculty and staff as we continue to carry on. We have worked hard to prepare nurses who will lead in their communities with the goal of improved health care.

Please join me in congratulating the December graduating class of 2020. During these unprecedented and historical times, we believe the hard work and achievements our students should be celebrated. Graduates, as you take your next steps into a profession built on compassion, empathy, integrity and courage we congratulate you on your well-deserved success. You have made us proud.

Finally, I thank our phenomenal alumni, supporters and friends. You take what you learned here and put it to good use, making the world a better place and coming together in a time of crisis to support our students and communities. Now more than ever we cannot reach our goals and achieve success without you. Thank you!

Happy holidays and GO HAWKS!
