Ramadan meals available for students
Do you know students who are observing Ramadan? University Housing and Dining has a plan to ensure students will be able to continue to get their meals. Students can select their breakfast menu items anytime during the day at Clinton Street Market, Grand Avenue Market, and Mayflower Market.
They can also use a Market2Go container at Burge Market Place, Catlett Market Place, and Hillcrest Market Place for their evening meal. Meal service will start on April 2, and end April 30, 2022.
Feedback Requested - UH&D Staff Holiday Gala
The Holiday Gala event is designed to recognize and celebrate the staff of UH&D for the work they do all year long. Thank you to everyone for another year of tremendous work supporting our students throughout the residence halls. If you have any feedback you would like to share about the event, including thoughts, suggestions, or ideas on what to do for the next staff event, please contact Carol at 319-353-2369 or carol-rose@uiowa.edu no later than Friday, April 1.
University Housing and Dining Scholarships Available
We need your help! Do you know a residence hall student who is a great citizen and promotes community in the halls? Take a minute to nominate them for the George L. Droll Scholarship. Applications are low and we need your help. Visit housing.uiowa.edu/scholarships to learn more and nominate a student for the Droll Scholarship! All UH&D Scholarships are open until March 30 or after and are available for students currently living in the residence halls (Droll and Coleman Awards) or for students currently working in Burge, Catlett, and Hillcrest Market Places or any other dining/retail unit with University Housing and Dining (Dining Scholarships). Each scholarship has its own unique criteria.
Lunch with the Chefs
Lunch with the Chefs (LWTC) is a themed lunch hosted by University Dining at the IMU that is open to the public. The next offering will be Thursday, March 31. Cocoa and Comfort is the theme and there are a very limited number of tickets left. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, visit the catering website at catering.uiowa.edu/lwtc.
Encourage students to work for UH&D this summer
Encourage students that you interact with to join the team as a summer custodian or summer maintenance helper. Students can make $15.00/hour plus overtime (if available). The position will have consistent 40 hour work weeks. In these positions, students will obtain real world experience while working in a fun environment.
