The University of Iowa has allocated up to $15 million in P3 funding for fiscal year 2026 to support progress on the university’s strategic plan, including establishing a new Exercise Oncology Clinic focused on improving the health and quality of life for cancer survivors, continuing investment in Performing Arts Annex renovations, and supporting faculty hiring initiatives. The Iowa Board of Regents approved a tuition increase for University of Iowa students at its meeting last week. The changes include a $279 increase to undergraduate tuition for resident and nonresident students and a $350 increase for graduate students. These increases will take effect at the start of the fall 2025 semester.

This week, a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order on a previously announced new indirect cost rate of 15% on awards from the U.S. Department of Defense to higher education institutions. One hundred eighteen UI student-athletes have been named to the 2025 Spring Academic All-Big Ten team, an honor for full-time students who play on a varsity team and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. The 16 women’s wrestling honorees are a school record, and the softball team tied its program record with 13 honorees for the second year in a row.
