September 2025 Hydrostation Report

Hydrostation Partners and Hosts,

Please see the September hydrostation report below.

Last month, in collaboration with partners at Northeast Iowa RC&D, IIHR—Hydroscience and Engineering, Trout Unlimited, and the Coon Creek Community Watershed Council, Inc, our team participated in a regional networking and knowledge exchange in southwest Wisconsin focusing on community building at the watershed scale. Home to the nation's first watershed demonstration project, the meeting brought together exceptional leaders and stakeholders working in the Driftless Area to share expertise on sustainable land management practices, environmental stewardship, and watershed resilience.

In 2018, southwest Wisconsin experienced record-breaking flooding following a 15-inch rainfall—a thousand-year event. Since then, decision-makers, water resource professionals, and watershed stakeholders have made significant strides in improving monitoring efforts. This flood event also prompted a visit to the Iowa Flood Center in 2022 to learn more about our monitoring framework and systems. We look forward to continuing and expanding partnerships with watershed communities throughout the Driftless Area.
