February is set aside to shine a light on and recognize the significant achievements made by the Black community in all aspects of American society as we celebrate Black History Month. Our friends in Multicultural & International Student Support & Engagement are planning many activities and events thought out the month.  I encourage everyone to visit the online home for Black History Month and participate in an event.

Black Youth Summit

The first annual Black Youth Summit hosts participants from Iowa High Schools, educational advisors, community members, and community organizations. It will be held on Thursday, February 16th, 2023. The registration deadline is Feb. 6th, 2023. Read more here. 

Diversity Catalyst Awards

The Diversity Catalyst Awards honor faculty, staff, students, programs, departments, and student organizations who have engaged in D.E.I. initiatives during the previous academic year. Nomination applications are due Feb. 6th, 2023. Read more here.
