Funding Opportunity - Iowa Department of Justice

Opioid Settlement Fund Distribution 

The Iowa Department of Justice is seeking applications to support programs and initiatives that address the opioid crisis in Iowa. Funding is provided through the State of Iowa's share of the National Opioids Settlements. This opportunity supports evidence-based, community-driven, and sustainable strategies focused on prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction related to opioid misuse and addiction.  

Eligible Projects

Funds available for distribution may only be awarded for use that is permissible under the national settlement agreements (see Exhibit 1.E., p. 24 or Exhibit 3, p. 45 of the Iowa Opioid Allocation Memorandum of Understanding).

Successful applicants will be notified through the Limited Submission process to submit the application on behalf of the University of Iowa.

  • Institutional Limitation: One application per department
  • Required Internal Submission Deadline: Noon (Central), April 13, 2026
  • Sponsor Deadline: May 18, 2026
