November 2025 Hydrostation Report

Hydrostation Partners and Hosts, 

Please see the November hydrostation report below. 

We are pleased to share that Representative Zach Nunn has approved our Community Project Funding request to expand the hydrostation network in southwest Iowa (dark gray counties in above image). A more detailed announcement will be released in the new year; however, we are now accepting requests. To inquire about hosting a hydrostation in southwest Iowa, please contact Kate Giannini at kate-giannini@uiowa.edu.

Real-time hydrostation data continues to be available on the Iowa Flood Information System. 

All hydrostation data (current and historic) can be accessed on the historic data platform. Each yellow square on the map represents a hydrostation. Click on the hydrostation of interest to view available data.

November Hydrostation Maps

Total Precipitation

Total monthly rainfall accumulation (in inches). 

Average Soil Moisture

Average monthly saturation of soil surface (in percentage). Soil moisture levels can vary based on differences in soil type and topography in addition to precipitation totals for the area. 

Average Soil Temperature

Monthly average temperature of soil surface (in Fahrenheit). 

Average Wind Speed

Average monthly wind speed (in miles per hour).
