July 2025 Hydrostation Report

Please see the July hydrostation report below. 

We saw several incidents of flooding in July across Iowa and the nation. Following the tragic flooding in Texas, professor and Iowa Flood Center co-founder Witold Krajewski was featured in this Washington Post article discussing how river gauges and alert systems can help communities prepare and respond to flash flood events. In Iowa, rainfall accumulations reached the the second highest on record for July since 1993, averaging 9.20 inches across the state.
