CDC is Seeking Applications for Youth Violence and Suicide Prevention Research
This program supports research that evaluates innovative, evidence-based programs, practices, and policies aimed at reducing interpersonal violence and suicide risk among youth and young adults disproportionately affected by these issues. The optional letter of intent deadline is June 15, 2026.
NIH Releases the Advancing Research on Empirically Supported Interventions for Older Adults Living with Serious Mental Illness Program
This program supports research to improve the delivery, effectiveness, sustainability, and implementation of evidence-based interventions for older adults living with serious mental illness (SMI). The NOFO supports projects conducted in real-world settings where older adults receive care, including primary care, geriatric clinics, assisted living facilities, long-term care settings, and community-based programs. Areas of interest include adapting and optimizing interventions, addressing barriers to equitable access and quality care, improving care coordination and transitions, and evaluating system-level approaches to enhance mental health outcomes for older adults with SMI. Proposals are due October 15, 2026. | | | New Limited Submission Opportunities | | Description: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Nutrition Research (ONR) announces the “Integration of Nutrition Training into Health Care Education” Challenge. ONR’s mission is to stimulate innovative research to address the complexities of nutrition, its ecology, and its critical role in health across the lifespan for all. The goal of this challenge is to identify, evaluate, and promote effective, scalable, and evidence-based approaches to integrating nutrition training into medical and nursing education, including both established programs and emerging models with strong potential for dissemination.
| | Description: The Searle Scholars Program makes grants to selected universities and research centers to support the independent research of exceptional young faculty in the biomedical sciences and chemistry. Applicants for the 2027 competition (awards which will be activated on July 1, 2027) are expected to be pursuing independent research careers in biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology, neuroscience, pharmacology, and related areas in chemistry, medicine, and the biological sciences.
