Nolden Gentry: 2020 Honorary Recognition of the Year Award

The University of Iowa Dental Alumni Association and the College of Dentistry selected Nolden Gentry for the 2020 Honorary Recognition of the Year Award because of his extraordinary and influential efforts on behalf of the dental profession in Iowa. Nolden Gentry (’60 B.A., ’64 J.D.) was a star basketball player from Rockford, Illinois when he initially came to Iowa and was a three-year starter for the Hawkeyes. He ended up making Iowa his home and became a prominent lawyer and leader in Des Moines and in the state. Gentry’s basketball and legal accomplishments are well known to many Hawkeyes, but his commitment to dentistry has played an important role in transforming dental care in Iowa. This is the final week announcing our four 2020 alumni award winners. Read more about Nolden Gentry on the College of Dentistry website and see the list of all award winners there too.
