Events and resources for engineering students, faculty, and staff

Dear CoE staff:

During this season of holiday giving, Engineering Staff Advisory Council (ESAC) is helping to coordinate opportunities to give back to our local communities and the people that make them special. Here are some ways you can support local charitable organizations.

Donate

  • Donate items in need such as canned food, baby diapers and formula, and toiletries to the CommUnity Crisis Services and Food Bank. View a list of items in need, here. Items can be dropped off at any of these donation stations by December 20, and ESAC will collect and deliver materials.
    • Main entrance, Stanley Hydraulics Lab
    • 3100 Seamans Center
    • Main entrance, Iowa Technology Institute
    • Near the viewing window, National Advanced Driving Simulator
    • Break room, Hydraulic Wind Tunnel Annex

Volunteer

  • Volunteer with ESAC on Saturday, December 18 from 9:00 am – noon to help Toys for Tots of Johnson and Washington Counties with toy pick-up, packing, and distribution. Contact Breanna Shea (breanna-shea@uiowa.edu) for more information on volunteering. Volunteer capacity is limited. You can also help by purchasing items off their Wish List Campaign by December 13. Toys will be distributed to families in need.

Give

  • Give to United Way of East Central Iowa to help create positive change in people’s lives in our local communities focused on education, financial stability, and health and well-being. Monetary donations can be completed, here.

Learn about other ways you can support our local charitable organizations by viewing the Fall Charitable Giving website, including how to setup automatic payroll deductions.

Thank you for considering supporting these organizations and giving back to our communities! We wish you a safe and healthy holiday season.

Sincerely,

ESAC
