Our blockbuster year continues! In 2026, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the University of Iowa's Bachelor of Arts in Dance—and we are moving into our new home as I write to you today. The building that formerly housed the UI Museum of Art, next door to the Theatre Building, has undergone extensive renovation and will be filled with dancers when the fall semester begins! Please make plans to join us for our community ribbon-cutting event!

For alumni, donors, students, faculty, and staff, there will also be a special departmental reception from 5:30-6:45 PM in the south lobby, co-hosted by the Department of Dance and UI Center for Advancement. And we'll host a series of additional, more intimate events over that weekend just for Dance alumni and students. Official invitations will be sent later this summer, so mark your calendar and make sure your contact information is up to date here.

Whether or not you can be with us for the celebration, we hope you’ll help us commemorate our time in Halsey Hall by sharing your photos, reflections, shout-outs, poems, and short videos from the time you spent in Halsey. Find the submission link below.
