Morgan Ebel recently joined the UI College of Dentistry as the Program Manager in Clinic Administration.
I’m excited to streamline the Implant process and support the residency programs in Oral Surgery, Periodontics, Prosthodontics, and Operative Dentistry. Prior to this role, I spent 6 years with University of Iowa Healthcare systems, working a broad range of roles across multiple departments including Psychiatry, Specialty Pharmacy, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine. Building a strong foundation in patient care management, clinical operations, residency & fellowship education, and program development—all of which I’m very eager to bring into my new role here at the college.
At home, I have a 2 ½ year-old German Shepherd, named Maple who is full of energy and is always keeping my life entertaining. I love staying active through hiking, exploring the outdoors, cycling, and traveling. I also enjoy experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen and quality time with family and friends. I’m looking forward to contributing to the College of Dentistry and collaborating with a talented team. It’s an exciting opportunity to be part of an organization dedicated to advancing dental care, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve together. | | | Delaney C, Warren J, Rysavy OA, Marshall T. Dietary questions in caries risk assessment and their relationship to caries. J Public Health Dent. 2024 Oct 8. doi: 10.1111/jphd.12647. PMID: 39377152.
This University of Iowa research team examined the relationship between specific dietary habits and dental caries among adults. Researchers analyzed records of 6,218 patients at a dental clinic, focusing on dietary questions within caries risk assessments. Key findings showed that younger age, unstructured meals, daily consumption of sugary beverages, and prolonged drinking sessions were significantly associated with caries. The study highlights the value of including targeted dietary questions in caries risk assessments to improve their effectiveness. The results suggest that focusing on sugar intake patterns may enhance both diagnosis and preventive strategies for dental care. | | Iowa Dental Association social at The Vine The Iowa Dental Association is hosting a dentist and student social at The Vine in Coralville on Friday, Oct. 25 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Stop in and connect with professionals and peers from around the state. | | Events
