Ali named associate provost for graduate and professional education, dean of Graduate College

Saba Rasheed Ali has been named associate provost for graduate and professional education and dean of the Graduate College, effective Feb. 1. Ali has served in the role on an interim basis since July 2025. A professor of counseling psychology in the College of Education, Ali joined the UI in 2003.

8 UI online programs earn national rankings

U.S. News & World Report has ranked eight University of Iowa graduate programs among the best in the country in its 2026 ranking of online programs. The programs are in the Tippie College of Business, College of Education, and College of Nursing. See the full list and rankings.

UI Health Care becomes nation’s first to use biodegradable pancreatic stent

UI Health Care gastroenterologists became the first in the nation to use a new biodegradable pancreatic stent called ARCHIMEDES, offering patients a safer, more convenient treatment. Bob Dylan's poetry is subject of new book by Iowa alum

For UI alum and author Mike Chasar, poetry isn’t just an art form found in books. In his new book, The Poetry of Bob Dylan: Thirty Essays on Thirty Songs, Chasar and 30 other scholars make the case why the highly acclaimed songwriter and musician is central to the history of American poetry.

New bus stop signs will make using Cambus easier

During the spring semester, Cambus will install new, easy-to-read signs that display routes by color and number, on-demand options, and local transit connections. The signs also include web, phone, and text info, as well as a QR code for the Transit app — making it easier to get real-time updates.
