You likely saw the news that U.S. News & World Report released their 2024 rankings for Best Graduate Schools. Four UI programs received a top-10 ranking, and two of those programs are within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in CLAS! The audiology program is again ranked second best and the speech-language pathology program climbed in the rankings to fifth and is the third best public institution. Congratulations to our CSD colleagues!

Kenneth Tse, professor of saxophone in the School of Music, received one of the most prestigious honors granted to faculty members at Iowa. Tse has been with the UI for more than two decades and is recognized as one of the world’s leading classical saxophonists.
Peng Jiang, assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science, received the prestigious CAREER award from the National Science Foundation.The award includes a grant of $548,944, which will support Jiang’s current research project.
Robert Bork, professorand director of graduate studies in the School of Art and Art History, is one of only seven fellows named to the 2024 fellowship class.
The Karl Wallace Memorial Award will allow E Cram, associate professor in the Department of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies and the Department of Communication Studies, to continue their research on the Johnson County Historic Poor Farm.
