Lynne Finn, associate vice president and director of Facilities Management, has announced her plan to retire after a decade of service. Finn has served in leadership roles within Facilities Management since 2015. A national search for her replacement will begin immediately.

Deciding when to ask for help can feel overwhelming. There is no one-size-fits-all that allows us to know when we should reach out for help. If you begin to feel overwhelmed or frustrated, or the stress of a situation causes you to lose focus, it may be a good time to reach out and ask for support.

- Discover Your University returns with 2 fall dates: Explore and experience the breadth of university spaces, programs, and hidden gems by registering for Discover Your University on Sept. 16 and Oct. 9. Spots fill up fast, so make plans with co-workers and register now!
- Make sure your personal information is accurate: The start of a new academic year is a good time to review and make necessary updates to your personal information in Employee Self-Service. Once you log in, click on “My Self-Service,” then “Personal Information.” Check to be sure your home phone, home address, and emergency contact are current.
- Update your Hawk Alert information: Receiving Hawk Alerts is crucial to your safety. As the semester begins, it’s a good time to update your contact information, save the Hawk Alert phone number and email to your contacts, and sign up for text messages.
- Blood drive takes place next week: UI Health Care will host a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, in the Divine Nine Room (No. 337) in the Iowa Memorial Union. The event is part of the We Give Blood Drive, in which the Big Ten university with the most donations by Dec. 5 will win $1 million for student and community health. Stop by and donate if you are able.
- Take control of your financial well-being with free resources: The UI’s partnership with Hills Bank offers all employees free one-on-one coaching, webinars, and online resources to enhance financial knowledge and well-being, with no need for a Hills Bank account. Learn more here.
- Register for the next Brand 101 training: Brand overview training is available for all faculty and staff who want to gain a better understanding of who we are, how to leverage our visual identity, and the resources available to help bring it all together. Register for the virtual Sept. 25 “Brand 101” course via My Training in Employee Self-Service.
