College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics

Dean's Message

Starting Monday, our newest cohort of D4s will begin their clinic and community rotations. A dental student's fourth year culminates in a comprehensive oral health care setting. While they spend most of their time in the Family Dentistry Clinic, they also gain experience in our Emergencies Clinic, Geriatric and Special Needs Clinic, and spend five weeks at a community-based rotation. This is the students' final, albeit long, step, which allows them to fine-tune their skills and become comfortable in an oral health care setting before the jump to a private practice. I am excited to welcome our new D4s into the clinics on Monday and I hope this academic year is full of optimism, education, and joy. Cheers! ~Clark Stanford
