Welcome to the Division of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (DWLLC) Newsletter! This newsletter is emailed to all students with majors or minors housed in DWLLC. In these newsletters, you will find a variety of information that will connect you to events, resources, funding, and internships/volunteer opportunities.

Language at the Intersection Insights

The Joint National Committee for Languages is offering the "Language at the Intersection Interview Series." They talk with professionals from various fields to hear about their perspectives on "How Multilingualism Moves Our World." The topics vary from Education, Human Rights, Immigration and more. Theses podcast will help us explore the intersection of Language and the certain topics.

Bridging Domestic and Global Diversity Program

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) invites you to apply for Bridging Domestic and Global Diversity a leadership training program designed to increase intercultural awareness and skills, while enhancing understanding and connection through diversity. Focus is on increasing self-awareness while building intercultural leadership skills. This semester-long program brings together approximately 25 undergraduate and graduate/professional domestic and international students at the University of Iowa to engage, support, and learn from one another.

Bridging Domestic and Global Diversity program will be in-person in the spring 2023 semester. Sessions are scheduled for Thursdays 3:30-4:45 p.m. each week in the International Commons 1117 UCC. The program has no costs and does not offer course credit for participating in it. Students who complete the program will receive a certificate and be recognized on the International Programs website

Chinese Dance Club

Are you interested in learning Chinese Dance or coming to see Chinese Dance performances?

The Chinese Dance Club is offering weekly dance lessons (including classical Chinese dance, Chinese folk dance, modern Chinese dance, etc.) and performance opportunities to all UI students, faculty, and staff. Dancers of all levels and ethnicities are welcome! No experience needed!

Time: Friday 6:30pm - 8:00pm
