5-for-5 Connection Challenge

Take the Surgeon's General 5-for-5 Connection Challenge! Connection is critical to our well-being. Pick 5 actions and 5 days in a row to connect with people in your life. Each day, take 1 simple action of your choice to express gratitude, offer support, or ask for help. This challenge runs from February 5 - 16, 2024.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

liveWELL partners with Brad Baldwin of Aperture to offer the 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to University of Iowa faculty and staff in a 50% or greater, regular position who are referred by either a Health Coach or EAP. The program begins on Tuesday, March 26. The deadline for a referral is March 15, 2024.

Group Health Coaching: Be Kind to Your Mind

Positive psychology is the study of how positive events and influences shape our ability to thrive and live a meaningful life. Join Health Coach Melanie in this 4-session series to practice creating more positive moments in your life to enhance well-being. Register for the upcoming four-week series, Be Kind to Your Mind.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The UI Employee Assistance Program (UI EAP) provides six free confidential counseling sessions per year to faculty, staff, post docs, medical residents, and their families. There is no reason to small to visit UI EAP. EAP promotes problem solving and stress resilience through counseling, coaching, and consultation. Learn more about EAP here.

The University of Iowa 24/7 Support and Crisis Line is now available to faculty, staff, and postdocs. Employees can call or text 844-461-5420 for free and confidential support. Read a recent article about the expansion of support and crisis line services at UI.

Family Services: A Caregiving Story

UI Family Services partners with a local organization, LivWell Seniors, to help UI faculty and staff navigate the complex world of elder caregiving.
