As of November 21, 2019, our records indicate a hold on your registration for winter 2019 and spring 2020 due to a past due University Bill. If you have already paid your University Bill you may disregard this message.
See below for ways you may be able to get registered.
- Pay your past due balance below $100 and your registration restriction is automatically removed.
- If you have not yet applied for financial aid, there is still time to submit the 2019-20 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you have submitted the FAFSA, go to MyUI and Financial Aid and Application/Loan Documents to see if anything else is required for aid disbursement. You can also contact the Office of Student Financial Aid to see if any other aid options exist for the bill. You can email financial-aid@uiowa.edu at any time, call 319-335-1450, Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m.-4:30p.m. or stop by 208 Calvin Hall to see a financial aid advisor, Monday-Friday, 10:00a.m.-noon and 1:00p.m.-3:00p.m.
- If your balance is $200 or less and you have authorized in the student billing agreement to use up to $200 of current session aid to pay a past due prior session balance, contact ubill@uiowa.edu to discuss this option.
- If your past due balance is below $500 you could fill out the Request Form, detailing how you will pay off any remaining balance. The balance must be paid by December 20th, 2019 or your registration could be voided. Email your completed Request Form to: registrar-service-center@uiowa.edu.
Completed Request Forms will be reviewed and you will be contacted via your University of Iowa email account with an answer to your request as soon as possible.
Remember, you can register for Winter or Spring classes until the day before the session begins.
If you have questions for the Registrar’s Office send an email that includes your University ID number or Hawk ID to registrar-service-center@uiowa.edu
Submit the 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) so that financial aid can be awarded for next year. The FAFSA filing deadline for priority aid consideration is December 1st so don’t delay. First awards will occur mid-February. At that time you can accept your loans and, if applicable, have your parents apply for the PLUS loan so that you have next year's costs covered.
