- Spring 2024/Winter 2023 registration is ongoing. If you haven't already, schedule an appointment to meet with your advisor to discuss your spring courses and receive authorization.
- Already registered for Spring 2024? Run an updated degree audit and make sure that your spring courses are fulfilling requirements for your degree. If a course is not showing up in the degree audit to meet a requirement as you expected, email your advisor to check on it.
- This will be the last DWLLC Newsletter for the semester. Please continue to check your email over break for any updates from your academic advisor.

| | | Student Travel Grants: Center for Translation & Global Research | The Center for Translation and Global Research will host a virtual information session Tuesday, December 5 from 4-5 p.m. regarding the Student Travel Grants. Student Travel Grants are awarded to outstanding University of Iowa undergraduate or graduate students to support travel associated with translation projects, translation-related research projects, or community engagement projects involving translation. Priority is given to projects involving travel abroad though research in the US will also be considered. Priority is also given to undergraduate students.
Undergraduates interested in translation are especially encouraged to apply.
Deadline for applicants (and recommenders): Monday, January 22, 2024.
Aron Aji, Director of the Center for Translation and Global Literacy, will discuss strategies and timelines for putting together a successful application.

Join International Programs' Karen Wachsmuth, associate director of international fellowships, and Kelly O’Berry, IRB education & outreach manager, for a series of virtual information sessions to discuss strategies and timelines for putting together a successful application.
Undergraduates interested in international studies are especially encouraged to attend.

For more information, please visit the Stanley Awards for International Research website. | | | Dewey Stuit Fund for Undergraduate Research | The Dewey Stuit Fund in Liberal Arts and Sciences is an endowed fund intended to promote the development of mentoring between CLAS undergraduate students and CLAS faculty. Students, faculty members, and academic units may request funding for projects that will advance the extracurricular research, scholarship, and creative work of undergraduate students.
Scholarships from the Dewey Stuit Fund may support:
- Undergraduate student travel to disciplinary conferences, workshops, archives, or other sites, either to present their work or to advance their research or creative projects.
- Direct expenses related to undergraduate research with a faculty mentor (e.g., software, equipment, participant fees, etc.).
