This summer we had a group of 23 IBA/LSAMP and Science Alliance Interns join us for a fantastic summer program! 

Peer Mentoring
Chelsey Gates and Devon Dawson discussed the value of peer mentoring and ways students can participate in our IBA/LSAMP Peer Mentoring Program.

Communicating Research
Lori Adams led a group in discussing all the ways that scientists use written, oral and visual forms of communication to connect with each other and with the general public.

Graduate Student Panel
Recent IBA Alumni joined our current students to share experiences and offer advice on topics like applying and transitioning to grad school, mentor/mentee relationships and more.  We were joined by

It was the first opportunity since the winter of 2020 for undergraduate live poster presentations.  Seventeen of of the students from the IBA/LSAMP Summer Program stepped up and shared their research.  Everyone did an amazing job and the event had a great turnout!

This Fall we have 45 students participating in the IBA, IBA-MARC, LSAMP and Science Alliance Program.  We have 22 students who have joined us since the Summer and are excited about 2021-2022.

The University of Iowa has received additional funds through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) to distribute to students who are enrolled during the fall 2021 semester and have exceptional financial need.
