 | | 2025-26 AIIS Language Programs for South Asian Languages | The American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS) is now accepting applications for our 2025-26 summer, semester, and academic year language programs. AIIS offers intensive, immersion-based instruction in over 15 modern and classical South Asian languages at multiple sites in India.

When: June 16th - August 8th, 2025
Session includes
- Arabic, Persian, Swahili, Turkish, and Wolof courses

The Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program offers a six-week Summer Enrichment Program designed to provide undergraduate students with an appreciation of current issues and trends in international affairs, an understanding of career opportunities in the field, and higher knowledge and skills to pursue such careers.

Application of students from minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, women, and those with financial need in order to fulfill the Rangel Program mission – to enhance diversity in U.S. representation abroad.

Students live at Howard University, attend classes, and participate in a variety of programs with foreign affairs professionals at diverse locations around Washington, DC.
The program will take place from June 9 – July 18, 2025
The Rangel Program covers tuition, travel, room and board, and provides a $3,300 stipend
Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students, with at least sophomore status on the date of the application deadline. Seniors graduating in Spring 2025 are welcome to apply.

Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application.

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen.
