| This email is being sent to all instructors teaching summer 2021 courses.
The purpose of this email is to share resources from the Office of Teaching, Learning & Technology; the Remote Instruction Team; and Classroom Scheduling that are available to support instructors in all facets of their teaching. | | Learning Spaces Technology 2021 Updates | | | Along with the typical refresh of computers, printers and A/V equipment in ITC and UCRs, LST has been charged with updating all current UCRs with Mersive Solstice Pods. | | While most UCRs already are equipped with document cameras, approximately 180 will now be updated to the modern WolfVision vSolution Cam. | | | Nearly 70 color/monochrome printers across campus ITCs will be replaced with fewer high-capacity Lexmark production-level color printers. | | LST’s support team hopes to push out a new GUI to classroom A/V touchscreen control panels that will begin to “ubiquitize” an end user’s classroom A/V experience. | | | In addition to classroom refresh updates, as well as ongoing repair and maintenance of upwards of 325 UCRs, there are at least eight UCRs that are expected to receive “comprehensive presentation technology updates.” | | In addition to the College of Public Health, North Lindquist Center, and TILE classrooms, another large-scale project for LST’s in-house design, installation and programming services, includes the University of Iowa’s Soccer Complex Facility. | | | The LST group is wholly in agreement that since the start of the pandemic, end users have been wanting conferencing spaces and systems updated to meet hybrid conferencing demands. | | | |
