Faculty Fellow for Faculty Development

The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost is excited to announce that applications are now open for a Faculty Fellow for Faculty Development, reporting to the Associate Provost for Faculty. Applications will be reviewed through April 20, 2023. This would be a 25%-time commitment for the 2023-2024 academic year. Fellows are eligible for salary offset plus fringe from the Office of the Provost commensurate with their time commitment. Full time faculty members in the clinical or tenure track at or above the rank of associate professor are eligible to apply.

The Provost Faculty Fellow for Faculty Development will focus efforts on strategies to support faculty success that align with the strategic plan. The strategic plan has been focused on aspects of the faculty lifecycle including recruitment, retention, development, and recognition. The successful candidate may participate in policy review, seminar development and presentation, and strategic planning tactics, or to develop a new project focused on the aspects of faculty success noted above. The successful candidate will also be provided opportunities to network with university administrators at various levels.

  • Cover letter, including a description of the applicant’s contributions and experience with faculty development and leadership
  • Vision statement addressing the following question: What strategies can enhance faculty development on campus?
  • Summary curriculum vitae
  • Administrative endorsement from applicant’s DEO

Required qualifications

  • Be a faculty member in the clinical or tenure track at or above the rank of associate professor
  • Established record as an effective teacher
  • Established record in creative work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess a general understanding of the faculty career life cycle and related issues

Desired qualifications

  • A demonstrated ability to develop and support interdisciplinary project teams
  • Involvement in and development of programmatic content
