Fan, Hunter to present UI’s 42nd Presidential Lecture

Weiguo (Patrick) Fan, Henry B. Tippie Excellence Chair in Business Analytics in the Tippie College of Business, and Eric J. Hunter, department executive officer in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, will deliver the University of Iowa’s 42nd Presidential Lecture on March 5. The lecture, titled “Understanding Our Multiple Voices in 21st Century Communication,” will explore how an individual’s voice is a powerful communication tool with major effects on the world.

Mariola Espinosa receives prestigious NEH grant

Mariola Espinosa, associate professor of history in Latin American Studies, was awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities grant, the nation’s most prestigious humanities scholarship. The award will support Espinosa’s research and writing for a book chronicling the professionalization of medicine in Puerto Rico.
