Advising Update

  • This will be the last IS Newsletter for the academic year. There will be occasional newsletters over the summer months.
  • Meredith's Summer Schedule: Available for emails and advising appointments. You can schedule with her through MyUI. She will be periodically out of the office--please be patient if an email responses take a bit longer than normal. Meredith will be on vacation from May 19th through May 30th. If you email when Meredith is out and have a urgent advising need, please follow the instructions in the auto-reply for back-up advising.

MISSE Is Hiring for 22-23

Are you interested in working within Multicultural and International Student Support and Engagement (MISSE) this upcoming academic year? They are hiring! They currently have openings in the Afro-American Cultural Center, Latino Native American Cultural Center, Asian Pacific American Cultural Center, Pride Alliance Center, and International Student Support and Engagement.

Russian Seven-String Guitar Festival Focuses on Works by Ukrainian Composers

The overarching theme for all concerts will be UKRAINE, and we will offer a great variety of works by Ukrainian composers. All proceeds from CD sales will be donated to Ukraine for humanitarian aid and medications.

 Featured artists this year are the world-famous Baritone Anton Belov, renowned Romani (“Gypsy”) virtuoso Vadim Kolpakov, Swedish seven-string guitarist Stefan Wester, and the father-son guitar duo Dmitry and Mikhail Melnik. They will be joined by Iowa artists Dan Caraway (guitar, bass), Richard Wager (bass), Kris Svennevig (violin), and Oleg Timofeyev (seven-string guitar)

Admission for each concert: $15 ($12 students/seniors)
