Cox’s powerful photographs document the IVF process she and her partner went through to conceive their daughter.
Works from this series are in the group exhibition Close to Me at Sioux City Art Center through May 18. This exhibition features portraits by some of the Midwest's most innovative artists.

This event showcased calligraphy, landscape painting, Zen painting, and abstract paintings inspired by ink art from Asia.
Students also presented creative responses, including ink paintings, calligraphy, ceramics, and digital and zine formats. Hval's work, supported by an Iowa Artist Fellowship grant, includes domestic objects which walk the line between jewelry and home decor and a performative garment.

| | | Darrell Petit (MA Sculpture 1990) is featured in a new book about his sculpture work, Darrell Petit In Stone.
The book follows Petit's journey to becoming a renowned sculptor of granite monoliths and "chronicles ancient stone being quarried, hammered, burned, polished and transmuted by this singular artist."
Petit's sculptures can be seen in the US, Egypt, Japan, and Norway. The book is available at Amazon, Apple Books, and the University of Iowa Art Library.

Bradford is an intuitive abstract painter whose practice is deeply rooted in play. She creates games for herself, making various rules to constrain and enable her creative process.
