The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Equity in Access Research Program is accepting letters of intent.

Through this program, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society aims to generate new evidence that can guide policy reform and changes in healthcare practice, in order to mitigate the impact of social, economic and environmental disadvantages and reduce barriers to care. LOIs are due by September 12, 2024.

The DOE releases the Carbon Capture, Removal, and Conversion Test Centers Opportunity

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced a new opportunity to establish Carbon Capture, Removal, and Conversion Test Centers. These centers aim to research and evaluate advanced systems for capturing and storing carbon dioxide from industrial and power plant operations. The goal is to find cost-effective and efficient ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

NIH: NCI Pathway to Independence Award for Early-Stage Postdoctoral Researchers (K99/R00 - Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed, Independent Clinical Trial Required, and Independent Basic Experimental Studies with Humans Required

Description: The NIH NCI Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) helps outstanding postdoctoral researchers complete needed mentored training and transition in a timely manner to independent, tenure-track or equivalent faculty positions. Mellon Foundation Sawyer Seminar Program 2024

Description: The Mellon Foundation invites proposals that meaningfully engage faculty, other academic leaders, and visitors from a variety of fields in the study of academic freedom and democracy in the American university. The Foundation seeks to support seminars that demonstrate through humanistic methods the ways in which a higher education system featuring a multiplicity of perspectives, thoughts, and voices is essential to a functional democracy.

NIH: Polycystic Kidney Disease Core Centers (U54 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

NIH: Cancer Prevention Clinical Trials Network (CP-CTNet): CP-CTNet Sites (UG1 Clinical Trial Required)

Description: Through this NOFO, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) proposes and will support the Cancer Prevention Clinical Trials Network (CP-CTNet) sites, for which the goals are as follows: 1) Design and conduct of early phase clinical trials to assess the safety, tolerability, and cancer preventive potential of agents and interventions of varying classes 2) Characterization of the effects of these agents and interventions on their molecular targets, as well as on other biological events associated with cancer development, and 3) Development of further scientific insights into the mechanisms of cancer prevention by the agents examined, including the development of novel potential markers as determinants of response.

NSF: Research Traineeship Program (NRT)

Description: The NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) program seeks proposals that explore ways for graduate students in research-based master’s and doctoral degree programs to develop the skills, knowledge, and competencies needed to pursue a range of STEM careers. The program is dedicated to effective training of STEM graduate students in high priority interdisciplinary or convergent research areas, through a comprehensive traineeship model that is innovative, evidence-based, and aligned with changing workforce and research needs.

NIH: The NCI Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Fellow Transition Award (F99/K00 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

Description: The purpose of the NCI Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Fellow Transition Award (F99/K00) is to encourage and retain outstanding graduate students recognized by their institutions for their high potential and strong interest in pursuing careers as independent cancer researchers. The award will facilitate the transition of talented graduate students into successful cancer research postdoctoral appointments and provide opportunities for career development activities relevant to their long-term career goals of becoming independent cancer researchers.

NEH: National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP)

Description: The National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP) is a partnership between NEH and the Library of Congress (LOC) to create a national digital resource of historically significant newspapers published between 1690 and 1963 from all 56 states and U.S. jurisdictions. LOC will permanently maintain this freely accessible, searchable online database (Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers). During its partnership with NEH, LOC will digitize and contribute a significant number of newspaper pages drawn from its own collections to Chronicling America.
