Funding Landscape
The William T. Grant Foundation supports researchers working to reduce inequality in youth and improving the use of research evidence.
One program supports research to build, test, or increase understanding of programs, policies, or practices to reduce inequality among young people. Another program funds research on how to better use and apply evidence to help young people. The next LOI deadline is May 7, 2025.
UI Support for PCORI proposals
UI is a member of the national patient-centered research network, PCORnet, a major national network funded by PCORI that offers researchers access to patients for trials and observational studies as well as real-world data from their electronic health records. More than 70 large medical institutions participate and hold their data in a standardized data model. The UI PCORnet team can provide support to UI investigators seeking PCORI or NIH funding for proposals that leverage PCORnet. To learn more contact the UI PCORnet project director, Brian Gryzlak.
PCORI is interested in comparative clinical effectiveness research and patient-centered outcomes research on any topic. It also has annual topic themes that inform focused funding opportunities. Some PCORI contracts are very large (phased large awards, broad pragmatic studies), and some are smaller methods projects (science of engagement, and improving CER methods). PCORI is hosting applicant town halls ahead of the May 2025 letter of intent due date.
