Commencement RSVP Reminder

You are receiving this message because according to our records you have a spring 2022 degree application on file. If you have already RSVP'd please disregard this message.

The RSVP deadline for spring 2022 is Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. The RSVP process at IOWA is an Opt-In system.  Please respond “attending” before the deadline if you plan to participate in a ceremony. The RSVP portal is located in MyUI within the Degrees/Graduation Tile by clicking on Commencement Attendance.

Please Note:

  • The RSVP portal for spring 2022 is now open
  • "Attending" and "Not Attending" responses must be received by April 10, 2022
  • Individuals who RSVP by the April 10 deadline will have until April 26 to upload a photo for their commencement slide (this is optional, slides are for personal use, and are not used for the in-person ceremonies.)  
  • Only students who RSVP'd "Attending" will be recognized at the ceremonies.
  • Attending commencement is optional. Degrees are not distributed at commencements. Not attending commencement does not impact your ability to receive your degree.

  • APPAREL (CAP & GOWN): Visit the Commencement website Apparel page for information on how to purchase apparel. Apparel will not be available for purchase at the ceremonies.

Celebration of Graduates at Kinnick

The University of Iowa is excited to welcome back the Celebration of Graduates at Kinnick. This event will take place in Kinnick Stadium at 3 p.m. May 15, 2022.

This event celebrates the accomplishments of fall 2021, spring 2022, summer 2022 graduates and recent REACH Program Completion Students.

Eligible students received an email on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022 with details. Students will receive an email to register from Marching Order by April 5, 2022. Students will be asked to register, but tickets will not be required.

Please note: 

  • This event is not a commencement ceremony and is in addition to commencement ceremonies.
    • Students registering for this event through Marching Order will still need to RSVP in MyUI for commencement attendance.
  • Graduates will not cross a stage. 
  • Names and photos will be displayed on Kinnick Stadium's video board before and after the program. 
  • There is no assigned seating. Graduates will be honored as a group with their college during a short program with remarks from UI administrators.

Although it is not required, graduates are invited to wear a cap and gown for this celebratory event.
