Community Engaged Research Workshop

The Office of Community Engagement and the RDO are hosting a virtual presentation and panel discussion on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 1:30-3pm to discuss community engaged research and building partnerships with communities across Iowa and beyond.  The workshop will also highlight the OVPR Community Engaged Scholars program, which offers funding opportunities to support creating and solidifying community research and scholarship partnerships across Iowa.

Attendees will learn about the spectrum of engaged research practices (community participatory, community engaged and community-based research), hear from a panel of community engaged researchers at Iowa, and learn more about submitting a proposal to the OVPR Community Engaged Scholars program.

Seeding Excellence: OVPR Community Engaged Scholars Program

Applications are sought for collaborative, one-year OVPR Community Engaged Scholars proposals with awards up to $50k to support creating and solidifying community research and scholarship partnerships within Iowa. The goal is to support community engaged research and scholarship partnerships that reciprocally benefit the University and Iowa communities. 

Letters of Intent due February 4, 2022, with full applications, by invitation only, due April 15, 2022. See the webpage to view the RFP and for more details.

Connect Your Researchers to Funding Opportunities: Pivot Administrative Features

Join us on Thursday, January 27 from 11am-12pm for an information and demonstration session that will introduce Pivot Administrative Features.  Topics covered will include crafting and saving funding opportunity searches, creating calendars and newsletters, sharing and tracking opportunities, editing profiles, and enabling weekly email alerts. We will also discuss how to request access to the additional administrative privileges.
