The Iowa Sciences Academy is home to a range of programs that support the success of underrepresented populations of undergraduate students interested in research and scientific communication. Through ISA programs, students have access to hands-on research, professional development, and scientific outreach opportunities. | | | Students attended the ISA Graduation at the IMU on May 3rd, 2024, for thirteen graduating seniors. | | The 2024 LSAMP Conference took place February 9th-10th, featuring ISA student winners, Seren Castellano and Quinn Eldridge. | | | Iowa Sciences Academy Mentors have selected Quinn Eldridge to be highlighted as an outstanding student in the ISA Spring 2024 Newsletter. | | Meet Dr. Susan Meerdink, an ISA mentor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Geographical and Sustainability Sciences within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. | | | ISA students presented at a variety of conferences this spring, including SURF at the University of Iowa, Research in the Capitol in Des Moines, and other regional or national conferences. This year, twenty-eight students are participating in summer research experiences either on campus or off campus. This article features the summer research experiences of three students in the MARC program: Fabiola Castaneda-Santiago (Biology), Liz Elias (Computer Science and Microbiology), and Klaertje Hesselink (Chemical & Biochemical Engineering). | | | The Latham Science Engagement Initiative (LSEI) Program ended strong with fourteen students presenting group and individual projects on April 27th, 2024 at the annual Latham Showcase. | | Science Alliance students Quinn Eldridge and Krishna Bharadwaj are recognized for their research in the ISA's Science Alliance Internship Program. | | | |
