July Wellness Updates

Strong social support can enhance physical health, mental well-being, and overall happiness. Since July is Social Wellness Month, it's an excellent opportunity to reconnect with old friends, volunteer, or join a club or group. Importance of the PHA

For nearly 20 years, data from the Personal Health Assessment (PHA) has supported well-being at the University of Iowa through workplace data, campus resource allocation, and impactful programming. Learn the importance of the survey and how it contributes to overall campus well-being. 

Tree Tours are back!

Join the Pentacrest Museums for a guided stroll on campus featuring the ecological diversity, symbolism, history, and lore of our trees. For this lunch hour tour, explore trees, the medicinal garden, and Roots of Medicine Initiative. 

When: July 25, 2024 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Where: Meet outside Field House, west campus

QPR Suicide-Prevention Training

Question, Persuade, Respond (QPR) training educates people on how to recognize the warning signs of suicide. In about an hour, participants will gain confidence asking the question, 'Are you having suicidal thoughts?' Register for an upcoming training.

Emergency Hardship Fund

The UI Emergency Hardship Fund supports costs, of up to $1000, related to an emergency event or crisis, resulting in financial hardship. If you are struggling financially due to an unforeseen hardship event, visit here to determine if you are eligible. 

NEW Sleep Program

EAP is offering a new sleep app, Sleepio, to help you get your sleep back on track. You will meet with an EAP counselor to get screened and then have two more sessions (in person or over Zoom) to support you through your sleep changes. Campus Scavenger Hunt

There is still time to participate in this year's Campus Wellness Scavenger Hunt and discover Herky statues scattered across campus. Participate solo or with a group of colleagues and take time to be outside and explore our beautiful campus.
