The Iowa women’s basketball team’s fantastic season ended Sunday in the national championship game. It has been so exciting to watch everything the Hawkeyes have accomplished this year. Congratulations to the team and thank you for shining such a bright spotlight on Iowa and women’s basketball!

32 Iowa colleges, programs ranked in latest 'US News & World Report 'Best Graduate Schools

The University of Iowa has 32 colleges and programs on the latest list of U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings. Four of these programs received a top-10 ranking in this year’s report, which will be released in two parts.

2 mid-career faculty scholars discuss how the award has elevated their work

Iowa’s Mid-Career Faculty Scholar Award celebrates outstanding tenured associate professors who are also exceptional teachers and leaders. Mary Charlton, professor in the College of Public Health, and Melissa Febos, professor in the Nonfiction Writing Program, are among the first recipients of the award. They say the award has elevated their work and leveraged other support from the university.

Faculty, staff, postdocs, and medical residents—as well as your family members—are eligible for this free and confidential service.

Bestselling author John Green to speak at IMU

John Green, the bestselling author of books such as Looking for Alaska and The Fault In Our Stars, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in the Iowa Memorial Union main lounge. He will receive the Distinguished Lecture award from the University Lecture Committee. Seats are first come, first served, so be sure to arrive early.

Family Spirit Award nominations are open

Do you know a family with at least three generations of Iowa graduates? Nominate them for a 2024 UI Family Spirit Award, which is given to a family that has benefited from their time at the UI and contributes to bettering Iowa communities. The winning family will receive the ultimate Hawkeye experience during Family Weekend in September, including 20 tickets to the Iowa football game. Nominations close April 30.

Excellence in Teaching and Learning P3 showcase will shine light on student success

The Excellence in Teaching and Learning project is a P3 initiative aimed at improving student success in several introductory courses at Iowa, and faculty are already starting to see the effects. To learn more about the work faculty and staff have been doing for this effort, stop by the ETL P3 Showcase from 2 to 4 p.m. April 18 at the IMU Black Box Theatre. Iowa Writers’ Workshop graduate to read from new novel

Iowa Writers’ Workshop graduate Sarah Braunstein will be at Prairie Lights Books at 7 p.m. Friday to read from her new book, Bad Animals. She will be joined in conversation by Rachel Yoder, an Iowa Nonfiction Writing Program graduate and author of Nightbitch.
