The University of lowa Technology Institute is hosting the first Iowa Virtual Human Summit this summer. This year's focus is leveraging mature modeling and simulation tools to improve the design and fit of body armor and other PPE for female soldiers and first responders. Too often women are expected to wear equipment designed for men. As a result, they may sacrifice performance, comfort, and safety. Sen. Joni Ernst, who is pushing to address this issue at the congressional level, will be the keynote speaker.
