| | Undergraduate Engagement Corps |

The UEC program provides full-time undergraduate students with training in critical areas of community engagement, including community-engaged research and building community partnerships. The full UEC program consists of:
- A 1 s.h. seminar in the spring semester focused on best practices and principles of community engagement,
- Opportunity to attend community engagement workshops and events held on campus and in the community,
- Mentorship on the development of a community-engaged project based in your hometown,
- An opportunity to apply for a grant designated for members of the UEC.
Combined, the UEC seminar, workshops, projects, and grants will provide principles and practices that will allow UEC members the opportunity to implement community engagement best practices and connect with community partners across the state and beyond.
If you are an undergraduate student who is interested in addressing critical societal problems, improving quality of life, and being an engaged citizen, the UEC is right for you!
This application is due on Monday, October 7th and space is limited. All applicants will be notified of their status by October 15th. Please email Jan Warren at jan-warren@uiowa.edu with any questions or concerns.

The Undergraduate Research Conference was created for students by students to give UI's undergraduates a low-risk space to learn about undergraduate research. Students gather for a two hour conference (with food!) to hear from a faculty speaker, learn about what undergraduate research is, and find out how to get involved. This year's conference will be geared toward first and second year students (though all years are welcome!) who are interested in research involvement. Register here
