Week 4

Week 4 of the Live Healthy Iowa 10-Week Wellness Challenge is underway! Take a moment to reflect on your activity minutes from the past few weeks. What strategies have kept you moving, and what obstacles have created barriers to staying active? Recognizing both can help you stay on track in the weeks ahead!

Physical Activity Guidelines

The Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommend that adults aim for 150 minutes of aerobic activity and two days of muscle-strengthening activities each week. If you're not quite there yet, no worries! This week, challenge yourself to get a little closer to that goal by increasing your moderate-intensity activity.

What Counts as Moderate-Intensity?

The talk test is a simple way to gauge the intensity of your exercise. During moderate-intensity activity, you should be able to talk but not sing.
