University of Iowa Staff Clear Litter near Kent Park

University of Iowa Staff Council members, family, and friends cleaned up a 2-mile stretch of Highway 6 in Johnson County near Kent Park - a popular destination for camping, hiking, fishing, cross country skiing, and more. Approximately 20 volunteers collected litter from along the roadside and properly disposed of it. Staff Council has adopted this stretch through the “Adopt-a-Highway” program and is pleased to beautify the area around such an important local resource.

Inaugural Networking Event a Success

Staff Council held an inaugural networking event on Thursday, May 19, to mark the end of the 2021-22 academic year. The event allowed outgoing and incoming Staff Councilors to get to know one another and share experiences serving University of Iowa staff. Thank you to Kevin Zihlman, and the planning committee of Jackie Kleppe, Isaac Podolefsky, David Stenersen, and Marla Rosenblum for organizing.
