Harriet Nembhard named new dean of College of Engineering

Harriet B. Nembhard, the Eric R. Smith Professor of Engineering and head of the School of Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, has been named dean of the University of Iowa College of Engineering. She will begin on June 29. Read more

With increasing breakthroughs and advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence, a new approach is being pioneered by Meesha Dogan, a University of Iowa alumna who sees a future that combines big data in the form of molecular information with the predictive powers of artificial intelligence, all in an effort to identify those at risk for heart disease. Read more

Matt Kuster named COE executive director of development

Kuster joined the University of Iowa’s Center for Advancement in 2016 as associate director of development for the College of Engineering and has served as COE director of development since 2019. Read more
