The Engineering Staff Advisory Council is happy to announce the call for nominations for the annual College of Engineering Staff Excellence awards: the Staff Research Award, the Staff Community Engagement Award, the Mary Sheedy Award, and the Staff Student Success Award.
Given that many of us continue to work remotely, the nomination form and process is now paperless. NOTE: within the form, please select the radio button for each award to see the nomination packet requirements and other award-specific details.
Nominations are due by Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
Please consider nominating your colleagues for these awards:
- The Staff Research Award - We have many talented staff researchers among our research centers and academic departments! This award is presented to a staff member in the College of Engineering who has made significant contributions to the advancement of engineering science and technology. The contributions may be in the form of books, journal papers, inventions, or other scholarly activities.
- The Staff Community Engagement Award - Do you have a staff colleague who goes above and beyond to help their personal and/or professional communities? This award is presented to a staff member whose volunteer activities demonstrate outstanding service to the University community, their profession, or the wider community, and whose imagination and dedication go beyond the scope of her/his position in the College of Engineering.
- The Mary Sheedy Award - Who is that person in your research center or academic department who makes the office or unit a better place to work? This award is presented to a staff member who provides outstanding service, has a positive attitude that improves the workplace, and demonstrates a commitment to the College and its mission that leaves a lasting impression with the College and its constituents.
- The Staff Student Success Award – Supporting our students throughout their time with the College is a priority for us all. Do you have a staff colleague who really makes a difference for our students, above and beyond their regular role with the College? This award recognizes a staff member who has made significant contributions to the advancement of the college’s mission to provide an accessible, modern engineering education for future interdisciplinary leaders.
Nominations are evaluated by an Engineering Staff Advisory Council committee and recommendations for award winners are made to the Dean, who makes the final selections.
SAVE THE DATE for the CoE Excellence Awards Celebration on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at 2pm. Like last year, this event will be held virtually and will recognize the winners of the 3 faculty excellence awards and 4 staff excellence awards.
