Virtual Classroom Tips

Using Zoom to conduct classes is a great way to avoid the risk of traveling in the snow and ice. However, it can make language teaching a bit difficult as student interaction is a bit more cumbersome. Elena Lanza and Reyes Morán of Northwestern University give good reminders and pointers for using breakout rooms in their article "Interpersonal Communication in the Remote Classroom: Maximizing the Use of Breakout Rooms." Hopefully, this can give you more ideas in case you need conduct the random class virtually.
