  • December 9 → last day to file a SECOND GRADE ONLY option to be reflected on Fall 2022 GPA.

Essay Contest

The A. Craig Baird Debate Forum and [ˈadvəˌkāt] are encouraging undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree seeking students to participate in the upcoming Essay Contest.

  • Student solutions to issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion influencing Iowa's campus
  • Five winners receive $400 each
  • Present solutions to the campus Friday April 14, 2023
  • Followed by a social mixer enabling the audience to engage the winners in conversation

Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship

Apply for the Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship, a highly competitive national fellowship program that provides recent college and graduate school alumni with the opportunity to gain a Washington perspective on key issues of peace and security

Scoville Peace Fellowship; Apply for a 6 to 9 months fellowship in Washington, DC focusing on arms control, peace, and international security issues. The fellowship is available to recent college and graduate school alumni; Work with one of two dozen public-interest organizations on a range of security issues including: nuclear, chemical, and biological nonproliferation, weapon trade, environmental security, conflicts resolution & peacebuilding, emerging technology threats, and global health security; Benefits include a salary, health insurance, mentoring, a small stipend for professional development, and travel to Washington DC to being the fellowship. The fellows may attend coalition meetings, policy briefings, and congressional hearing. The program also arranges meeting for fellows with policy experts.

UI Food Pantry

The Food Pantry is a FREE service open to anyone with a university ID card. The Food Pantry at Iowa provides free nutritious food and basic necessities for University of Iowa students. Food accessibility and affordability is important for college students to survive, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and to concentrate in classes.

Items available at the pantry may include: fresh produce, protein, beans, pasta, canned fruits/vegetables, soup, breakfast items, snacks, and toiletries.

Locations: 278 Iowa Memorial Union and 2nd Floor of the Pride Alliance Center.
