Advising Update

  1. March 7, 2022 (today!): Early Registration for summer 2022 University of Iowa courses begins. Email meredith-gall@uiowa.edu if you need to be cleared to register for su22.

  2. April 4, 2022: Last day to drop a semester-length sp22 course with a W; initiate the drop in MyUI then meredith-gall@uiowa.edu for permission.

  3. Search MyUI for sp22 off-cycle (short), 1 – 2 sh courses which you can add now (before they start in March/April). At this link, you may need to change the semester to spring 22 in the top right menu. 

  4. April 11, 2021: Early Registration for fall 2022 University of Iowa courses. Make an appointment with Meredith before April 11to review your plan of study, and to be cleared to register. 

Apply by March 11th for the Iowa United Nations College Ambassador Program

The Iowa United Nations Association is proud to offer students at colleges and universities throughout Iowa the opportunity to join our advocacy efforts in support of the United Nations’ work on human rights, global health, sustainable development, gender equity, and climate action. The Iowa UNA will offer up to 10 students the opportunity to serve as College Ambassadors. Selected students will each receive $500 as a stipend. During this 12-month program, ambassadors will work with the Debra DeLaet, Executive Director of the Iowa UNA, and other volunteer leaders to amplify our advocacy messages on their home campuses and through their social media networks.

Summer: Apply by April 1st for an ICRU Research Summer Fellowship to support your research with a mentor. $2,500 for 15-20 hours/week for 10 weeks this summer! For more information, click here.
 
Academic Year: Apply by April 22nd for an ICRU Research 2022-2023 Academic Year fellowship to support your research with a mentor. $2,000 for 5-6 hours/week for the academic year! For more information, click here.

This is a fundraiser celebrating International Women's Day and local women-led organizations that are making a difference in Johnson County. Join us for international music, dance, art, and spoken-word performances as we celebrate International Women's Day by honoring three women-led organizations: Inside Out Reentry Community, Iowa City Compassion, and Open Heartland. Tickets are $10 for students.

Internships and Leadership Opportunities

Cmiel Funding for Summer Internships:
Kenneth J. Cmiel funding supports rights-related summer internships. Students may use the funding to help pay for housing, transportation, food, and incidental expenses. This year, the Center will award $10,000 to support UI undergraduate, graduate, and professional students experiential learning endeavors.  The application deadline is April 8, 2022(5:00 pm CT).  Eligibility and application information may be found at: https://uichr.uiowa.edu/academics/funding-summer-internships/kenneth-j-cmiel-internship-funding-program.
