Dear colleagues:

As the academic year draws to a close, we are ready to turn our attention to fall 2021 and the transition back to campus for many of us who are still working remotely. The CoE’s return to campus date is Aug. 2, 2021. We encourage you to use the summer months to transition back to campus.

The CoE has prepared some preliminary guidelines to aid units and individual employees in planning for the fall and any necessary transition activities over the summer. These guidelines are a framework to help ensure consistency and operational effectiveness across the CoE, while also providing staff with some flexibility.

Information is provided that is applicable to both faculty and staff regarding our facilities and other college resources. The guidelines also relay the process and expectations for staff work arrangements. Guidance for faculty was previously published by the Office of the Provost. As campus guidance and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines continue to evolve, we will update our collegiate plan accordingly, with a finalized plan published by Aug. 2.

I encourage you to review the full preliminary guidelines document found here. In addition, we are asking all staff in the CoE to complete this Qualtrics survey by May 31 to gather information about individual work arrangement preferences.

It has been an extraordinary year — one of perseverance, patience, and resilience.  It is our hope that fall 2021 will re-establish the thriving campus experience we all know and love, but perhaps even BETTER – for faculty, staff, and our students. Your constructive engagement and optimism as we make this transition is appreciated and valued.

Here’s to being together in person and on our beautiful campus in just 12 short weeks!

Cathy
