Happy Fall 2024!

We hope your summers were good and that your semesters have gotten off to a good start!

As always, we are here for faculty support with instructional technology
and helping coordinate the use of our spaces and resources!

If you need anything, let us know!

CLCL Workshop Series

The CLCL will be instituting a bi-monthly brown bag lunch and learn series! During this series of workshops, faculty are invited to bring their lunch to the CLCL Culture Bites Café (120 PH) where various faculty and staff will present on different topics. We hope these workshops can be a good time to interact with faculty from other departments and share ideas about pedagogy, technology, and course design. If you have an idea for a workshop, we have a spot open on Oct. 2nd and are already considering the Spring 2025 semester. Reach out and let us know if you're interested in leading a discussion!

ON AIR
Sept. 18th
CLCL at 12:00 pm
The next workshop in the series is ON AIR, which will act as an introduction to podcasting and video editing tools for multimedia projects. If you have wanted to incorporate podcasting or video into your classroom projects, come and learn how it works and if it will work for you!

CLCL Updates

Culture Bites Café

The CLCL Lounge area is now the Culture Bites Café! This area is set up with a fully-equipped kitchenette perfect for incorporating food and eating culture into your courses! There is a brief training for instructors, but all CLCL staff is also trained on the equipment and can assist you in planning and conducting an event! E-mail Claire for more information about scheduling, training, or just to talk through ideas about using it.

Reminder: Instagram Accounts

The CLCL is going full steam ahead with the Student Ambassador Program in order to make the Division more active on social media accounts. Claire has spoken to directors and DEOs and stressed the importance of getting students to follow Instagram accounts. If you need QR codes to send your students or if you want pages put up on your ICON sites for student and instructor ease of access, let Andy know and he can add those to your course sites!

FORGET WHO WE ARE? FAIR!

Director Claire Frances works with faculty and staff to support language education throughout the Division. Recently, she has taken over the Division's recruitment and retention efforts, having worked with directors and DEOs throughout the Division.

Claire also oversees three concierges who are assigned to a department and have additional special projects. They can help with tech and ICON issues, website updates, and event scheduling. Ultimately, we're all here to support you! If you have any questions, you can e-mail your (or just a) concierge at any time!
