Spring 2022 Final Exam Schedule is Published

This message is intended for those instructors teaching spring 2022 courses with a final examination scheduled by the Office of the Registrar. If you are with a professional college that does not follow the final exam schedule set by the Office of the Registrar, please disregard this message.

Official Schedules

We are pleased to announce the Spring 2022 Final Examination Schedule (May 9 - 13, 2022) is now available to campus.

Primary instructors may access their official individual final exam schedule online via MAUI. Instructions for doing so are located on the Office of the Registrar’s website, if needed. Benefits of the online schedule include:

  • Course section responsibilities for administering makeup finals in the event a student has been identified with a qualified exam conflict; and
  • Course supervisors have the ability to view the final exam assignments for those course sections they supervise.

Students are being notified today of the publishing of the Spring 2022 Final Examination Schedule, available to them via MyUI.

Student Exam Conflicts and Make-up Exams

Student Exam Conflicts

Instructors and students have been notified that students with qualified exam conflicts who wish to request a makeup exam, according to exam precedence rules, need to speak with their course instructor by March 1st. We recommend faculty get in touch with their students identified with qualifying exam conflicts in order to facilitate the communication process and assist students who may be new to the process.

Make-up Exams

Faculty needing to issue a makeup final exam may use the 5:30-7:30pm exam period on the Friday final exam date but are not required to use this period. This exam period is reserved for makeup final exams only. No regular final exams are scheduled during this period.

Change Requests

Now that the final exam schedule has been published, all final exam assignment date/time changes require written approval from both the department chair (DEO) and collegiate associate dean (Dean's Office). Please note that even when approval has been secured, it may not be possible to accommodate exam change requests due to excessive student conflicts and/or a scarcity of classroom resources.

Use of Proctorio

Please note: Beginning fall 2021, Proctorio use will be limited to (1) Distance and Online Education course offerings with a DOE Distance Course (EX*) management type and (2) online lecture sections without a face-to-face discussion component. If you have any questions related to Proctorio, please contact Distance and Online Education at doe-exams@uiowa.edu.
