1. If you plan to enroll in a summer 2022 U Iowa course, make an appointment with Meredith before March 7 (Early Registration for su22).
2. If you plan to enroll in only fall 2022 U Iowa courses, make an appointment with Meredith before April 11 (Early Registration for fa22).
3. Summer and Fall 2022 course are now viewable on MyUI. For a list of courses that fulfill track requirements or global perspectives/world cultures and societies, visit the IS Course Database. 
4. February 25, 2022 = Deadline to apply for a spring 2022 degree in MyUI to avoid a fee.
5. April 4, 2022 = last day to drop a semester-length sp22 course with a W; initiate the drop in MyUI, then email for permissions.

Are you interested in applying for a Fulbright this year or in future years? The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is designed to give recent bachelor’s graduates, master’s and doctoral candidates, young professionals, and artists opportunities for personal development and international experience. Projects may include English teaching assistantships, independent research, creative/artistic projects, university coursework or degree programs, or training in a music conservatory or art school.  Please join us for a general information session, presented by a Fulbright National Program Officer from the Institute of International Education (IIE), in which attendees will learn:   the basics of the grant, how to get started on preparing for a Fulbright application this year or for future years, and how to find support on the UI campus for their applications.   https://international.uiowa.edu/students/awards/fulbright

Anne Frank’s Story in Iowa (An ICFRC Event)

Let Me Be Myself: The Life Story of Anne Frank traveling exhibit at Old Capitol Museum through March 2, 2022

This exhibition connects Anne Frank's life story with the present and makes the fate of the millions of victims of the persecution of the Jews during the Second World War personal and palpable.It chronicles Anne Frank’s life and struggles from her birth in Frankfurt, Germany in 1929, to her death in the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp in 1945. It then jumps forward to the present to tell stories of young people today, connecting Anne’s story with other present-day difficult stories and experiences. The exhibit is open to the public for self-guided tours on Fridays and Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Provosts' Global Forum: Teaching Anne Frank

This Provost's Global Forum brings together a multi-disciplinary panel of experts from Iowa and across Europe between February 28 - March 2, 2022, to highlight the educational value and continuing relevance of Anne Frank's story. Presenters will discuss how Anne's life and legacy are taught in multiple disciplines, in K-12 education, and in museums and other media. Food Corps AmeriCorps Positions for 2022-2023

FoodCorps service members get kids excited about growing, cooking, and eating healthy food. In classrooms, cafeterias, and school gardens, they help students build positive connections with fruits and veggies that last a lifetime. Scholarships

Carver Scholarship ($6000)

The Carver Scholarship is available to full-time, Iowa resident, students who will be starting their junior year next fall.  Eligible students must have faced obstacles in their lives.  Your 2022-2023 FAFSA must be filed by March 1 and apply for the scholarship by April 1.  More information about the scholarship is available at https://www.carvertrust.org/

Study Abroad Scholarships

There are a variety of undergraduate scholarships to help fund study abroad, including virtual global experiences:

1. Bedell World Citizenship Experience Asia Scholarship - plan to study in a geographic area where Japanese, Chinese, or Korean is the primary language
2. James L. and Rubie S. Watson Study Abroad Scholarship - plan to study in one of the following countries or territories: China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, or India
3. Joel D. and Sandra Barkan Scholarship - plan to study in one of the following countries: sub-Saharan Africa, Asia-including Central Asia, Latin America, Middle East-including North Africa
