Kevin Washburn to conclude term as College of Law dean

Kevin Washburn, who has been dean of the UI College of Law since 2018, has announced that he will step down from the position at the end of this year. Washburn has had a significant positive impact on the College of Law, including his vision for the college to be known as the “Writing Law School” and the development of the Hubbell Environmental Law Initiative.

UI makes progress implementing Iowa Board of Regents DEI directives

To comply with directives from the Iowa Board of Regents and recent state legislation, the University of Iowa has restructured the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and renamed it the Division of Access, Opportunity, and Diversity. UI Health Care provides life-saving care for tiniest baby in the U.S.

Evelyn Eilers weighed eight-and-a-half ounces when she was born 17 weeks early at UI Health Care, making her the smallest surviving infant in the U.S. But thanks to the life-saving care she received in Iowa City, she went home seven months later a happy newborn. Dare to Discover banners

Nominations open for Dare to Discover downtown banner campaign

Do you know an outstanding undergraduate, graduate student, or postdoctoral researcher who has done amazing work? You can now nominate them to be part of the 2025 Dare to Discover banner campaign. Nominations can be submitted online until Sept. 5, but early nominations for researchers working on campus this summer are encouraged by June 20.

FYI: Primary election takes place in Johnson County on June 4

The statewide primary election will take place on Tuesday, June 4, for various seats in federal, state, and local government. During the primary election, voters will choose the candidates who will appear on the November general election ballot.
