Kevin Washburn, who has been dean of the UI College of Law since 2018, has announced that he will step down from the position at the end of this year. Washburn has had a significant positive impact on the College of Law, including his vision for the college to be known as the “Writing Law School” and the development of the Hubbell Environmental Law Initiative.

To comply with directives from the Iowa Board of Regents and recent state legislation, the University of Iowa has restructured the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and renamed it the Division of Access, Opportunity, and Diversity. Nominations can be submitted online until Sept. 5, but early nominations for researchers working on campus this summer are encouraged by June 20.
