The University of Iowa has named professors Amy Colbert and Kenneth Tse as recipients of the 2024 UI Distinguished Chair, honoring their remarkable scholarship, teaching, and service. Colbert, a leading expert in entrepreneurship and leadership, and Tse, a renowned saxophonist, join a select group of UI faculty that has made a significant impact in their fields and at the university.

The next total solar eclipse will be viewable across the country on April 8, with Iowa City able to see a partial eclipse on that day. Eclipse Explorer shows peak time to view the eclipse will be about 2 p.m. Join the UI Physics and Astronomy Department from 12:30 to 3 p.m. April 8 on the Pentacrest and the Sciences Library courtyard to watch this phenomenon.

Cheer on the Iowa women's basketball team during their Final Four game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The UI Athletics Department is hosting a free watch party Friday, where fans can watch the game on the arena's jumbotron, enjoy in-game entertainment, and get concessions. Doors will open at 7 p.m. If you can't make it to the watch party, the game will be broadcast on ESPN at 8:30 p.m.

The UI Community Health Collaborative offers body composition, aerobic fitness, and resting metabolic rate tests for all faculty, staff, and students. Students get experience performing the tests, and proceeds from the tests support UI student research and learning programs.
